Every piece begins as a raw lump of clay, meticulously shaped by skilled hands into a mug, platter, or lamp. Once dried and hand-decorated, the greenware is ready for its transformative journey through the kiln.

In the back room of the Rowe Pottery Studios, a kiln the size of a small garage stands ready for the final 12-hour firing process. Carts, stacked high with greenware, are slowly heated to over 2000 degrees, where impurities are burned away and the magic of pottery comes to life. As each piece cools, there is always an element of surprise—the firing process reveals the unique glaze artistry, brush strokes, and the unmistakable touch of the potter’s hands.
