About Us

Glytja is an Icelandic Boss Mare. Her people came over with the Vikings. They were tough. So is she. So are the women she calls a herd.

The shirts are loud because the trail should be safe. The jokes are dry because life is wet enough. The herd is real because she built it that way.

Boss Mare. She doesn't ask twice.

Sassy and bright trail shirts. Created for women who ride for joy, not judgement.

We believe trail riding is therapy. It's not about speed or perfection. It's about connection, fresh air and the kind of laughter that only happens with friends and horses.

You have earned your confidence, humor and the right to ride exactly how you want.

Wear your story from Barn to Trail and Everywhere in Between.

Ride bright. Ride happy. Ride your way.

Our shirts are:

-Trail tested by women

-Made to be seen on the trail by hunters, runners, and dog owners

-Cute enough to go from the trail to coffee with friends

-Made to move with your body

"This darling shirt is exactly what I wanted. The color and fit is perfect. At my age, I might have chosen a crew neckline...but, then again, at my age who cares!" - Elaine Ft Lauderdale, FL

For Women Who Love to Trail Ride

IamGlytja trail shirts were created because trail riders needed apparel that combined safety and humor and no one else was offering it. Designed by real horsewomen, our shirts use high-visibility colors for shared trails, lightweight performance fabric, and messages that communicate awareness without sacrificing personality. They’re made for women who spend more time on the trail than in the arena and want gear that fits real bodies and real riding life.

Dear Soti, Love Glytja chapter book

Hi. I’m Glytja.

I’m the Boss Mare at HestaRokk Farm, which is basically a slice of Iceland that accidentally landed in Wisconsin. I run a tight but loving herd, I know everyone’s business, and yes, I have opinions.

In this book, I’m inviting you into our world.

You’ll meet the herd (six hearts, one complicated family), hear about the night my life changed forever, and learn how I became the leader everyone looks to when things get hard. You’ll cry a little in Dear Sótí, It’s Not Goodbye. Don’t worry, I did too. And you’ll laugh when a shy, freckle-nosed horse from Iceland shows up with big stories, bigger feelings, and very distracting Blue Lagoon eyes.

There is love.
There is loss.
There is tölt. (So much tölt.)

I’ll tell you what it’s really like to grow up Icelandic, why we get along so well, why we don’t freeze in winter, and why, listen carefully, you should not buy an Icelandic yearling unless you’re ready for a lifetime commitment and opinions.

Along the way, you’ll meet Yule-Lad suspects, long-lost legends, and Fróði (who deserves his own warning label). You’ll learn farm life, herd life, and life-life....straight from someone who walks the walk on four very sturdy legs.

This isn’t just a horse book.

It’s a story about family, belonging, and finding your place even when it takes you halfway across the world to do it.

So come on in.
The gate’s open.
The herd’s waiting.

And don’t worry—I’ll tell you everything.
