Thirteen Icelandic troublemakers. Twenty-four pages. Zero supervision.
Every December, the Yule Lads come down from the mountains one night at a time to steal sausages, lick spoons and slam doors. This year they picked the wrong farm. Now it’s your turn to color the chaos.
Each Yule Lad gets his own page, drawn by artist Charlotte Guernsey, with his Icelandic name, his English name and the night he shows up. Sheep Cote Clod comes first on December 12. Candle Beggar comes last on Christmas Eve. Color one a night and count down to Christmas the Icelandic way.
The book also has puzzles, a word search, and a few drawing activities.
Give it to the kid who can’t sit still or the grandma who won’t admit she loves coloring. It works for both. Hand it over on December 11 and you’ll get thirteen quiet nights in a row. You’re welcome.
