The stuff you're wondering
Do I have to buy anything?
No. Entry is free. Buying a trail shirt will not improve your odds. It will improve your trail rides, but that's a separate matter.
Do I need to be an experienced rider?
Yes. Íslandshestar rates this tour for advanced riders, with 8 to 9 hour riding days and demanding highland terrain. Be honest with yourself before entering. The horses will know, and so will the sheep.
What's included and what isn't?
Included by Íslandshestar: the six-day round-up tour, bus transfer from Reykjavík, mountain cabin accommodation, full board, plus rainwear, riding helmet, saddle bag, and water bottle. Not included: flights, travel insurance, your sleeping bag, and accommodation before and after the tour. Those are on the winner.
When is the tour?
The Sheep Round-Up Rangárvallaafréttur runs September 13 to 19, 2026. The winner must be able to travel then; the date doesn't move for anyone, sheep included.
Is IamGlytja part of Íslandshestar?
No. We're an independent women's equestrian brand in Wisconsin. Íslandshestar is generously providing the prize, but we are not affiliated with them and the trek is entirely their show. Full details in the official rules below.
When and how is the winner chosen?
One winner is drawn at random from all eligible entries on September 2, 2026 and notified by email. If the winner doesn't respond within 48 hours, we draw again.
Independence and liability. IamGlytja® is not affiliated with, endorsed by, or a partner, agent, or representative of Íslandshestar. The prize trek is provided, scheduled, and operated solely by Íslandshestar, which is solely responsible for the trek and all aspects of the prize experience, including availability, safety, cancellation, and changes. IamGlytja is not responsible or liable for the trek, for any injury, loss, delay, or expense arising from it, or for the acts or omissions of Íslandshestar. Horseback riding is an inherently risky activity; the winner participates at their own risk and must sign any waivers Íslandshestar requires.
No purchase necessary. Free to enter. A purchase or payment of any kind does not increase your chances of winning. Void outside the eligible territory and where prohibited or restricted by law.
Eligibility. Open to legal residents of the 50 United States and the District of Columbia who are 18 years of age or older (19+ in Alabama and Nebraska; 21+ in Mississippi) at the time of entry. Employees, contractors, and immediate family or household members of IamGlytja and of Íslandshestar are not eligible.
Entry period. Entries accepted from August 19, 2026 through September 1, 2026 at 11:59 PM Central Time. Sponsor's clock is the official timekeeper.
How to enter. Submit your name and email address through the entry form on this page. One entry per person and per email address; additional entries will be disqualified. By entering, you subscribe to the IamGlytja email list; you may unsubscribe at any time without affecting your entry. Entries generated by script, bot, or other automated means are void.
Winner selection and notification. One winner will be chosen at random from all eligible entries on or about September 2, 2026. Odds of winning depend on the number of eligible entries received. The winner will be notified by email and must respond and confirm availability for the tour dates within 48 hours. Before the prize is awarded, the winner may be required to sign an affidavit of eligibility, a liability release, and, except where prohibited by law, a publicity release. If the winner does not respond, does not meet the eligibility or rider requirements, or declines the prize, an alternate winner may be drawn.
Prize. One spot on Íslandshestar's "Sheep Round Up Rangárvallaafréttur" tour (September 13-19, 2026; approximate retail value €2,910), provided by Íslandshestar and subject to its terms, itinerary changes, rider skill requirements (advanced riders), and weight and experience limits. The winner must be available to travel on the tour dates. No cash alternative, and no substitution except by Sponsor or Íslandshestar, who may substitute a prize of equal or greater value if the tour becomes unavailable. Prize is not transferable except at Íslandshestar's discretion.
Winner's responsibilities. Airfare, travel to and from Iceland, a valid passport, travel insurance, sleeping bag, gear, lodging outside the tour, and all other expenses not expressly included in the tour are the winner's responsibility. All federal, state, and local taxes on the prize are solely the winner's responsibility; the Sponsor may report the prize value to tax authorities as required by law.
Release and limitation of liability. By entering, entrants release and hold harmless IamGlytja, its owners, and its representatives from any claim, injury, loss, or damage arising from participation in the giveaway or from acceptance or use of the prize, to the fullest extent permitted by law. Sponsor is not responsible for lost, late, incomplete, misdirected, or undeliverable entries or emails, or for technical failures of any kind. In no event will Sponsor's liability exceed the cost of entering, which is zero. Nothing in these rules limits liability that cannot be limited under applicable law.
Publicity. Except where prohibited by law, acceptance of the prize constitutes permission for Sponsor to use the winner's first name, state, and likeness for promotional purposes without additional compensation.
General conditions. Sponsor may disqualify any entrant who tampers with the entry process, violates these rules, or acts in a disruptive or deceptive manner. If the giveaway cannot run as planned due to fraud, technical failure, or any cause beyond Sponsor's control, Sponsor may suspend, modify, or cancel it and draw the winner from eligible entries received before the disruption.
Social platforms. This promotion is in no way sponsored, endorsed, administered by, or associated with Meta, Facebook, Instagram, or TikTok. Entrants release these platforms from all liability.
Disputes and governing law. These rules are governed by the laws of the State of Wisconsin, without regard to conflict of law principles. Except where prohibited, entrants agree that any dispute will be resolved individually, without resort to any form of class action, in the state or federal courts located in Wisconsin, and that any claim is limited to actual out-of-pocket costs, with attorneys' fees, and incidental, consequential, and punitive damages waived to the extent permitted by law.
Privacy. Entry information is used to administer the giveaway and send IamGlytja emails. We do not sell your information.
